So a singlr Salamanders Flamestorm Aggressor in a squad is guaranteed to put out 12-ish mortal wounds. Aside from the rest of the squad getting 24 shots at AP-1 and +1 or +2 to wound. And that's not considering the defensive buffs. Sure they're hard to get in range, but still. Were these actually playtested?

This. I really only wanted point fixes and maybe a Warlord Trait and Relic armor/blade. Maybe 2 stratagems, 1 being that you can take an Inquisitor for -2CP rather than take up a detachment slot.

I know they won't do it, but my dream is that Daemon Hosts become characters and Acolyte units that are only a single Acolyte become characters. Or they have a secondary Acolyte unit that is a character that has 3-4 Wounds. I love the idea of Acolyte Bodyguards, but having 1-6 Guardsmen as Bodyguards simply gives up easy kill points and first blood with offering nothing in return.

Why is 40k unbalanced so badly? You might not like AoS but when playing Smegmar you can field a meme unsupported faction like Greenskinz and still win against supported shit like Sigmarines as long as your opponent doesn't go full cheese. AoS knows no nerfed into oblivion army like GK, CSM or Necrons.
Fuck, the game is Age of Hordes right now but I still do win games with the most elite army in existence (BCR) thanks to tactic, placing my stuff in right spots etc.

Will it look weird if I do a Blood Angels or Dark Angels successor chapter using their chapter specific models (i.e. deathwing, sanguinary guard etc) and them having their chapter logos on them?

I.e. If I wanted to make Angels of Absolution chapter, will it look weird to use deathwing models despite them having the winged sword logo of the Dark Angels plastered all over them? I know they are a successor, but you dont see fists all over Black Templars or inverted Omegas on Silver Skulls.

All the new Slaanesh daemons released in the last year got dataslates for 40k. They've yet to be added into the codex.

Loadout choice on troops is top tier, Daedalus is a solid HQ, Kataphrons are pretty average in their performance and Kastellans are a much better choice. Triple Dunecrawler and Belisarius is solid though. Relatively competitive list and good luck playing !

To be fair here, Kelly wouldn't be the guy to decide how to market the stuff. And splitting Blood of the Phoenix and Phoenix Rising into two separate purchases was likely not his decision either. So asking who wrote the story is just looking for the wrong person to blame, since it wouldn't have been up to him how to divvy this up.

Forcing models to stay outside of 12" means lots of weapons are pushed outside of rapid fire on drop, and you can't declare a charge. Comparatively 9" can allow rapid fire and charges, and at this point in the edition there are plenty of armies thag can make a 3d6" charge out of deepstrike.

Because they have access to a strategem that says they didnt move during the movement phase, and thanks to the assbackwards FAQ that allowed your units that you piled into on a fight again strategem those units in the storm raven are suddenly eligible to be picked to move, allowing you to disembark them, move them shoot them etc.

Slaanesh gets pissed at how anticlimactic this is and puts his favored hunter into the rape gulag

Guilliman reforms the IG by standardized kit and training. Making them uniform across the thousands of Imperial worlds. New pattern IG weapons. New uniforms, armor, etc.

From Catachan to Armageddon, the Guard is now the same.

Yeah most recent examples like Gathering Storm and Vigilus have him bull charge straight in, have the tide of battle turn against him, and then resort to desperate measures just to make the best of a bad situation. Which either means dropping a Blackstone Fortress on Cadia after the invasion failed, or running away from Vigilus to cut his losses.

In the Black Crusade supplement from 2013 he did have all these ulterior motives for his Black Crusades, but it was a feather in his hat more than anything. He set clear, specific victory objectives for himself and maintained a solid track record because he was very good at picking his battles, setting the terms of the fight, and not overreaching by straying from his objectives.

Long story short, the old merchant fleet is pretty shitty, but the current fleet is pretty good.
Long range AI guided torpedoes allow tau to match and best conventional navies like Orks and the Imperium even when out numbered, but they struggle with tyranids because they can launch bioforms to intercept the torpedoes.
While they do have medium and close range weapons, they would rather avoid having to use them.

Why not make some room for some Primaris Psykers so you can actually get 1CP from each of those Vanguards since they are Astra Telepathica detachments right? Unless they changed it in WD recently, I haven't seen it. Shalaxi seems pretty good at her job. She forces Yvraine to move around a lot, never lets her stop to rest. She gives visions to Yvraine to demoralize her. She has convinced Yvraine it is impossible to gather the Croneswords, leading Yvraine to conclude that there is no other way to complete Ynnead than to see all Eldar dead. This is the most radical position Yvraine could take, and it's the one that will garner the least support. Shalaxi has radicalized Yvraine.

Yvraine sees an opportunity to solidify her support by killing Shalaxi with a coalition of all Eldar cultures, like a microcosm to show how they can defeat even Slaanesh if they risk their lives and work together. Given the circumstances this wasn't a bad idea. But Shalaxi sees the same opportunity and counters it by taking herself off the table, letting Yvraine gamble with her comrades' lives when the stated goal cannot be fulfilled. Shalaxi doesn't bumrush Yvraine, instead she acts patient and takes the Ynnari's measure. She realizes the fragility of the alliance and knows that persistent pressure can turn those cracks into rifts, and she's willing to wait for those rifts to grow.

It really does a lot to show how effective Shalaxi is at her job.

I'd be so happy with an Acolyte kit since they did good work with the Necromunda kits. Hell I got a bunch of those to be Acolytes anyway. I hope they don't release a new Inquisitor character, I'm bothered enough that the basic ones are so much more shit compared to Greyfax, Coteaz, Eisenhorn and that FW guy. Like I made a battle one with a Thunder Hammer and Plasma Pistol which is 87 points, hits on 4+, has 4+ armor, Ld9, can only cast 1 power vs Coteaz which is 100 points and he hits on 3+, has 2+ armor, Ld10 and can cast Smite as well as another power. You can get similar stats with the Terminator Inquisitor which I love too, but with all the gear you end up with close to 130 points.

Yeah that's what I was thinking because I have Guard and Blood Angels and wanted that Knight between them here and there.

I painted about 15 models gold and purple with some black, blue and silver bits, but I'm not feeling it. I'm a little reluctant to strip them in case I want to just be like, fuck it, lets do the rest like it.

Found a scheme I liked for my Crons and I have a Tomb Stalker/Sentinel almost ready to go alongside a lot of other models. I'd probably airbrush the stainless steel basecoat on 80% of my Cron Army tomorrow since most is already primed.
